Founder's Assistants - apply here

Postby johnleeke » April 17th, 2011, 6:08 pm

At the Summit each of the Founders will have an Assistant.

We are hoping that volunteer assistants will step forward from the cadre of dedicated tradespeople studying at the several preservation trades schools and educational programs around the country.

If you are a preservation trades student and would like to get involved in this project, talk to your school officials to see if they can help you with the funds to register and travel to the Summit at The Pine Mountain Settlement School (PMSS) in Pine Mountain
Kentucky for five days during July, 2011.

It is possible that Assistants can help the Founders remotely with specific tasks during the weeks and months before and after the Summit.

This is your opportunity to be closely associated with preservation trades leaders and make a significant contribution to this important project.

I am currently seeking a volunteer assistant who has experience using online forum systems and would be willing to help me moderate here at the Forum.

Typical tasks would be:
--> Checking in at the Forum frequently, perhaps daily when it is highly active
--> Helping Forum users find what they are looking for
--> Coaching less experienced users over the telephone, helping them get registered and learning how to use the Forum, upload attachments, etc.
--> Spotting and deleting messages left by spammers and hackers

This could be done online from your location and does not include attendance at the Summit.

Hi John,

I'd be more than happy to help with the forum. I've got plenty of experience in moderating contractor forums and have used just about every platform their is. Let me know if you'd like me to help.

Hi Jason

It would be great if you could help here.

I've posted a section to help people get started:
viewforum.php?f=21

So you might monitor that for questions.

Can people contact you by email or phone if they need help getting registered, or if they need "personal coaching" in how to use the system?
