Book Covers (draft)

Postby johnleeke » April 30th, 2013, 8:41 pm

Front Cover

I am now working on a new front cover design. This will take 3 to 5 days.
Please submit a photo of a window to be considered for the cover. It needs to be high resolution (at least 300dpi).

Main Title: Window Preservation Standards
Publisher's line: WPSC Window Preservation Standards Collaborative
Spine: no spine text (it is too narrow)

Criteria for the front cover:
No picture of a person working on a window.

Back Cover

Photo: group at Summit
Marketing Blurbs: (please submit one)
Marketing blurbs are brief quotes from important people extolling the virtues of the book. They are based on the important people having read the book. The first printing of the book will be without blurbs. Blurbs will be added in a subsequent printing.
If you know of someone with national name recognition who would be willing to read the book and provide a blurb, please post a reply here to let us know who it is.

Front Cover Photo

I am withdrawing this photo for consideration for the front cover, since it shows a person working on a window.

This draft for the front cover is unacceptable because it shows a person working on a window. I am now working on a new front cover.

The back cover for the subsequent printings may contain "blurbs".

I like this one a lot, and it's extreme vertical character could work well on the cover.

Do you have it in higher resolution?

Here are two cover drafts for you to consider. Post a message to let me know which one you want and I will develop it into the final cover.

Cover2draftlowres.JPG

Cover2: Nice window photo.

Cover3draftlowres.JPG

Cover3: For those who want the logo to appear on the cover.

The black lines are "layout lines" and will not appear in the final cover.

It would not look good for a both a photo image of a window and the logo image of a window to appear on the cover together.

The logo image will appear on a page just inside the cover, along with the logos of our partners.
