The WPSC Council made the unanimous but difficult decision to postpone the Window Preservation Summit V until April 2022 due to the massive increase in COVID infections/hospitalizations. It seemed like the wise and responsible thing to do. We are working to contact all registrants via email and personal phone calls. Watch this webpage for further announcements.
The Window Standards Preservation Collaborative (WPSC) is pleased to announce the 5th Bi-Annual Window Preservation Standards Summit to be held at Pine Mountain Settlement School, Bledsoe Kentucky, in April, 2022
Pine Mountain, “the most beautiful place on earth” is a National Historic Landmark in Harlan County and has hosted 4 of the 5 Summits. WPSC is a group of nationally recognized window preservation specialists who assemble and present national standards for the repair and weatherization of older and historic windows, as detailed in the publication Window Preservation Standards Book, published in 2013 after the first Summit.
The Summits provide information for the next edition of the Window Preservation Standards book, to be published in 2021. The standards provide definitive energy testing data comparing energy saving upgrades, and establish industry guidelines for the sustainable repair, restoration and weatherization of historic wood windows.
WPSC organizers are seeking observers, advisors and stakeholders to attend and participate in the Summit. These include independent tradespeople who perform window restoration work, contractors, architects, facilities managers, and owners of historic homes and commercial buildings.
